Visual grading

Judging by the minimal amount of spindle wear this vinyl has been hardly played and I can only detect a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines only.  A lovely looking vinyl without doubt.  There are no scratches and it retains a very impressive glossy sheen.  It has always been very delicately handled and this is reflected in the superb audio.

Play grading

S1 begins with a stunning rendition of 'Radio Ga Ga' the likes of which are rarely heard on an A1/B2 pressing.  It plays with perfect precision and there is no 'background' of any kind except for a couple of dust ticks on the fade out and grades as Mint- the clarity is first class.  'Tear It Up' has no distortion and rocks out with superb power and volume.  The quiet intro on 'It's Hard Life' is incredibly impressive and has no obvious 'background' aside from a couple of very quiet static sounds.  'Man On The Prowl' ends the side with nigh on perfect sound once more.  A stunning side with superb clarity throughout, not one single click or pop.

'Machines' is breathtaking.  Rarely have I heard such powerful audio on this track and there is no distortion whatsoever.  The only interference is a little static on the fade out.  The same can be said for 'I Want To Break Free', a little static on the fade out but Mint audio elsewhere.  The remaining three tracks also play with sublime quality and 'Hammer To Fall' in particular plays with tremendous power and depth.  'Is This The World We Created...?' has incredible clarity and is up there with the best I have ever heard.  There is barely any 'background' which is so rare on the final tracks of any side let alone one that is so quiet.  A minor touch of barely audible static but nigh on perfect audio for certain.  A stunning end to this first pressing.

The Cover

The cover is in great condition with hardly any shelf wear.  The edges and spine have no shelf wear and even the corners have no rubbing which is something of a rarity on this cover as wasn't produced very robustly.  The opening edge has no handling wear at all.  The front and back covers are extremely clean with only a handful of faint 'foxing' marks but they certainly do not stand out.  Overall a fantastic example of this cover, very clean indeed.

Lyric inner

This has the rounded corners as per the first and early pressings and is in superb condition with no side splits etc.  With no creasing either this is as near to perfect as you will find.

The labels

With very little spindle wear they are very clean with no writing or marking.  The S1 label has a few tiny indent marks which I imagine were caused during manufacture.
