Description

Quarteto 1111

Domingo Em Bidonville-EP

Odeon (Portugal)/EMI E016-40059 Stereo

1970 45 RPM 7" EP release, with picture sleeve, by Portuguese Prog/Psych group, Quarteto 1111. Group, led by the legendary Jose Cid (lead singer, keyboards, composer) released a series of singles starting in 1967, culminating in an LP release in 1970 which featured these tracks. Due to the controversial nature of 2 tracks ("Domingo En Bidonville" and "Pigmentacao") the original LP was censored and taken from the market. EP at hand shows signs of censorship: back cover has sticker covering a song title (perhaps "Pigmentacao"?). This is possible evidence that this EP had to be changed after the sleeve design has been printed. Tracks: "Domingo Em Bidonville," "Estrada Para A Minha Aldeia," "Joao Nada," and "Epilogo." Cover (Penco Records' importer's sticker on back cover) is extremely clean with slight creasing-no stains, tears, splits, or writing. Disc (black label with silver print-both sides have a gold "Odeon" sticker covering the top of the label) is clean, glossy, and Mint! Sound of group is a mix of Prog and Psych, using mellotron on some tracks and sounding like Pink Floyd at times.

Rare European "Beat" collectible in incredible condition! Offered without reserve!

Condition: (EXC+/M)
