Description
Queen - A night at the opera, 1st pressing 1975 US Elektra 7E-1053 original LP with original blue sticker (Features the Hits "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY" and "YOU`RE MY BEST FRIEND" 7E-1053). This lp is listed as new, and here`s the reasons why: I`m original owner of this lp from mid 70`s, I kept it sealed for more than 20 years as I listened for my UK original copy. I opened it in late 90`s as I was curious to compare it to my UK copy but mostly because I wanted to make sure there were no manufacturing defects in case I decide to sell it. I played it once (and I mean it...) on Michell Gyrodeck with Sumiko cartridge and put it back into storage. I`ve checked it under 100 watt lamp (I always wear surgical gloves for that, and spend about 30 minutes for checking each side piece by piece), there is just one small paper scuff on side 2, which originated when the record was put into paper sleeve at the factory, I have put it into antistatic and haven`t touched it since. Those of you who own 70`s US pressings probably noticed that nearly half of them are slightly warped (and some look like a frisbee), but this one is remarkably flat. Also the vinyl mix used for US pressings desired to be better, you would notice all sorts of small air bubbles and pieces of dust trapped under vinyl, white-ish spots (plastic cups and old ball pens mixed with deleated records) etc. This copy is however absolutely clean looking, perhaps because it was 1st pressing and virgin vinyl was used for this ocassion. Most of the shrinkwrap is intact and therefore you wouldn`t find any yellow-ish and brown-ish spots on the cover, which happened a lot to the white colour covers that are 30 years old, needless to say there is no dirt or any other marks on it or bent corners or any other imperfections. I hope by now you realise that I take my records seriously (perhaps too seriously), while you may disagree with checking record visually for an hour, you can rest assured that despite high starting bid this record is absolutely perfect in any respect.
