Description

An original 1st press of the DEBUT from 1973 on EMI. Matrix 3/3. Etching 'Kissy Poo!'. Note how the side indicators on the label are vertical [not horizontal]. Original 1st pressings of the debut are not so easy to find - as it didn't enter the top 40 originally [only retrospectively]. Please note the 3U/3U copies often left the pressing plant with a repeat skip pressed into the 1st section of 'Modern Times Rock N Roll'. Many copies exhibit this issue. I have thoroughly tested this one. It does 'sound' - but thankfully it doesn't seem to skip on this example. I have tested this on two DIFFERENT DECKS - and it plays through. The vinyl comes housed in an original non-laminated cover with double spine. These 1st issues are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. Also included is a EMI styled inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In excellent condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And this is both hard to find and very important on this title. You're going to need a clean player otherwise the quieter moments will soon become distracting. Lovely and clean into those acoustic/instrumental sections. Think 'Liar' etc...lovely clarity. Not much to take issue with. All I could detect was a couple of minor ticks early in 'Modern Times RnR' & in 'Doing All Right'. And a sort of semi-skip [non-repeating] during Liar. I don't think you actually lose audio. It sort of sounds like the band plays a bum note. No great shakes really. A super rendition which will deliver Queen's debut in fine fettle.
Cover (Vg+) A total pain to find in even half decent condition. The unlaminated 1st issues are really difficult to find without surface wear. But this example is well preserved. The front looks great with just some minor record impression and a surface abrasion top right [where the spot-light is emanating from]. The rear looks much better than you tend to find with just light creasing in a couple of spots [and minimal surface wear]. Edge wear is relatively ligh and the openings are still sharp and firm. Both spines are fully intact with just light wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
