Description

An original 1st press of the DEBUT from 1973 on EMI. Matrix 5/5. Etching 'Blair Rules!'. Note how the side indicators on the label are vertical [not horizontal]. Original 1st pressings of the debut are not so easy to find - as it didn't enter the top 40 originally [only retrospectively]. The vinyl comes housed in an original non-laminated cover with double spine. These 1st issues are incredibly difficult to find in anything approaching decent condition. Also included is the EMI inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen the lightest use. Check out those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. And this is both hard to find and very important on this title. You're going to need a clean player otherwise the quieter moments will soon become distracting. Lovely and clean into those acoustic/instrumental sections. Think 'Liar' etc...truly breath-taking clarity. I'm struggling to find fault. All I could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of brief moments per side. A beautiful rendition and you'd be hard pushed to even get close to this level. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) A total pain to find in even half decent condition. The unlaminated 1st issues are really difficult to find without surface wear. But this example is in truly amazing condition. The front and rear look absolutely superb with no signs of wear or fading [way way better than what typically surfaces]. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen the rear perfect...wowzer. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent....which is highly unusual. The openings are still sharp and the spine [both] are 100% intact. Four pointy corners. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. An example you could never better....FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
