Click to view supersized image Queen, THE GAME, Still Sealed MFSL LP. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, MFSL-1-211, Anadisq 200. Following up the most idiosyncratic album of their career (JAZZ), Queen makes the transition here from weird pomp-rock band to weird pop band, marking a new musical direction for their '80s output. The major development here is the incorporation of funk into Queen's already-broad stylistic pallete. The mega-hit "Another One Bites the Dust" is based around an irresistibly funky bass riff that would be sampled by countless rappers over the next two decades. "Dragon Attack" mixes the funk quotient with some fiery guitar heroics from Brian May. The pure pop aspect of Queen's music blossoms into full flower as well. "Need Your Loving" could be a Badfinger out-take. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" predates (at least in the U.S.) the Stray Cats-led rockabilly revival of the early '80s. There are hints of late-period ELO on "Coming Soon". On "Rock It" the band shows that they still know how to pull out all the rock & roll stops. THE GAME is arguably Queen's most artistically successful, fully realised work. THE GAME found Queen at the top of their craft and the top of the charts, with two number-1 singles ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and the Chic-inspired "Another One Bites The Dust"). It also featured the first appearance of a synthesizer on a Queen album. Half-speed production & mastering, specially plated & pressed on 200 grams of high definition super vinyl, special static free dust free inner sleeve, special heavy duty protective packaging, source: the original stereo master tape, mastered with the ortofon cutting system, all these make for a very special record. Unopened and certainly never played record is in still sealed original factory packaging. Special Limited Edition Number is No_2382. There is no reserve price on this wonderful item.

Policies Grading Records Back to Top I grade records following Goldmine Publications guidelines. Mint-Unopened and unplayed. Near Mint-Opened and implying that it has been played at least once. No defects beyond merely insignificant and certainly not scratched. Plays quiet. Very Good Plus-No significant wear. May have a few slight scratches or scruffs. Little or no ring or age wear to the cover, no matter that it is 40-50 years old. Plays with slight or occassional noise and some times random pop. Very Good-Obvious wear to vinyl and cover. Plays with surface noise that never overpowers. Plays thru without skipping. It is still a very good listen and cover still looks very nice with one or two minor defects. Good-Plays thru without skipping but will have significant surface noise. Many scratches and groove wear will be evident. Cover will have seam splits, tape, writing or ring wear that will overwhelm the object. Poor-Cracked or badly warped, won't play without skipping and cover is barely keeping the LP inside it. Cover will be overwhelmed with defects. Not worth having unless impossibly rare.
