Description
#1413. I purchased this album in the secondary market from the original owner advertised as near mint having been played only once. Following my own appraisal I would agree with this. I played the album through the Grados and the sound was perfect. I saw no visible issues with the A side and on the B side I saw a couple of minor surface marks over tracks 1 and 2 however this in no way translated into the sound (and I was listening critically). Also on the outside edge of the vinyl there is a slight factory miss cut (a tiny indentation at around the 8 o clock position that I only found when I was giving the vinyl a light cleaning). This all having been numerically I score the vinyl a 95, well within near mint. With regard to the cover there is a bump/crease on the top left front corner that is also visible when looking at the album from behind (I’m guessing the album was put onto the shelf corner first and ka-boom!). The top right front corner has a very small bump and there is only nominal wear in the other corners. On the spine there is a hairline stress line (less than one inch above the letter E in the word game). Under the word Game and a little to the right on the bottom spine and a little further down on the top spine there is light wear from the crease where the gatefold opens. Seams are tight. Finally when looking at the cover from behind along the left side of the jacket is what looks like a little wrinkle (I think it got pushed on when trying to put the album back in) and a very small stress line (running into the Hollywood Record logo) on the bottom of the jacket. Based on these issues I score the cover a 92 which I also believe is near mint albeit on the lower end of the spectrum (I score near mint like an A which runs 90-99). Regarding shipping the album is shipped within cardboard, with the vinyl outside of the jacket, inside of a Whiplash mailer. If you have any other questions please let me know and thanks for looking!
