Only album from this South Wales four piece band. Breezy sounding prog rock with nice harmonies and inventive playing. Guitar, bass, keyboards and drums though it hard to see who does what. There are some comprehensive reviews (of the CD re-issue) at:-

In addition there is a glowing review of their live show from Roy Hollingwoth in Melody Maker July 28th 1973:-

“Take Quicksand for instance. They were just terrifying. This band just lurched on stage and beat the hell out of 3,000 ears without blinking an eyelid. On-beat rock, loud and not like any rock you hear from the States or Newcastle or a London pub. There's such a charisma of validity and authenticity about the music that you freeze and just stare at them as they battle away through battered amps. With ballads and soft weaving and head music they are tender to a point of brilliance, and when they rock they're as savage as lions. This underlying piston of power is dominant through-out. The rhythm is just ridiculous”

The outer sleeve is in very good condition with just some light wear and a few small blemishes. An additional photo of the inside of the gatefold sleeve is included.

The inner is a plain paper and has yellowed a bit from 1973 to now.

The disc is in very good* condition. I would have said excellent but for some prominent crackles as the last track on side one begins. There are some light light lines which seem to make no impact on playing quality. Other than that there is the occasional minor click.

You should confirm the sound quality for yourself on the attached eCommerce Player. (In fact my request/demand is that you listen before placing any bid.) You would certainly know it was vinyl but I guess that's what you are seeking.

(This album recorded on my Rega 3 turntable with a Goldring 1012 cartridge using “Audacity”, exported as 128 kbps MP3 files and uploaded into eCommerce Player. No editing whatsoever)

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
