The psychedelic US rock band "Quicksilver Messenger Service" played the earthy and drug-laden blues rock typical of the San Francisco music scene at the time in the 1960s and 1970s. After their debut album they released the record "Happy Trails". It was to be the high point in QMS's work. Recorded in the Fillmore West and Fillmore East, this live album impressively documents that the musicians were not studio musicians, but purely live workers. The songs "Mona" and "Calvar" are characterized by the best guitar improvisations by the unforgettable guitarist John Cipollina. "Happy Trails" is a musical festival, a classic, just to be enjoyed.
