Description
For sale is vinyl record by Martin Denny titled "Quiet Village" The Exotic Sounds of Martin Denny", originally released in 1959 by Liberty Records with labels that were black with silver print, with "LIBERTY" at the top of the label and a drawing of the Statue of Liberty above. This record is the second pressing with a black label with a rainbow colored area to the left of the center hole, along with"LIBERTY" in white over a gold crest. These labels were used only between 1960-66. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Near Mint Minus with some very faint corner blunts. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any surface scratches, scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading it as Near Mint, without any background noise, lock-ups, pops or skips from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. The stereo separation is tightly focused, with the instruments coming from a black background that is lush and detailed. A wonderful recording that is the birth of "Exotica". This is the best copy of this very rare album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
