Description
Quincy Jones has been among the most charismatic figures in black music in the past 50 years. Though he's released a sizeable amount of records on his own, he's chosen to make his mark as a producer/arranger to countless other artists instead. His biggest success coming of course with his involvement with the late Michael Jackson. One of his most successful solo projects was the release in 1973 of 'You've Got It Bad Girl', a seamless fusion of jazz, soul, and funk. The highlights for me are the songs "Sanford & Son Theme" and "Love Theme from The Getaway", the latter featuring an unforgettable, beautifully languid harmonica solo from "Toots" Thielemans. Dave Grusin, Phil woods also contribute to this superb album as do Stevie Wonder and Billy Preston but are not credited.
The copy I am offering is the much desired "quadraphonic" (A&M QU-53041) mix of the album. For me it brings out more detail and highlights greater separation of the instruments even during "stereo" playback.
Condition: Still Sealed.....Lp cover shows some minor wear but overall still in excellent condition. Saw-cut to lower left side of jacket. Record is presumed to be Mint.
