Description
Excellent condition 12" vinyl LP of THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. This is an original etched pressing from 1999, complete with slipmat as shown. It is highly collectable as detailed below!
IMPORTANT CONDITION INFO - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
This is one of the original etched pressings with the "raised fist man" logo imprinted upon Side A of the record itself (runout groove code: E 069630 AL). I've held the record up against the light in Picture 2 here so you can get an idea of what this looks like.
HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ETCHING DOES AFFECT THE PLAY SLIGHTLY. Where the logo has been imprinted, it creates a minor "hissing" effect as the stylus passes over it. This is NOT generally audible in the record's louder moments on Side A - however, it does become audible in quieter moments (e.g. on a few track intros) and between songs. This interference is ONLY audible on Side A. Side B does not have the etching on it, and plays perfectly as a result.
I have tried to include as much detail here as possible, as I know that this is a collectable version of the LP and would hate for there to be any misunderstanding about the condition of its play! Aside from the "hissing" effect (which I believe to be a natural consequence of this etching possibly degrading slightly over time - other purchasers on Discogs have noted similar interference on etched copies), this is in otherwise Near Mint condition.
From my own personal collection in a smoke/pet-free home. All records have been played through from start to finish to ascertain condition, and graded to a standard I would be happy with as a collector. Grading is therefore as follows -
Record: Side A: Ex ("hiss" effect from etching as detailed above). Side B: Near Mint (NM) Sleeve: Near Mint
Inner: Ex+ (crease to top corner)
Slipmat: Mint
UK postage = £5 (2nd Class Signed For - cheapest recorded option)
Europe postage = £14 (International Tracked & Signed)
Worldwide postage = £19 (International Tracked & Signed)
