Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... THE VINYL MINT- INCREDIBLE CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing with the //1 matrix numbers on each side, confirming this is the very first pressing.
This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
There are a few tiny light whisp lines and nothing else! Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years.
Only some very light spindle skate around the centre hole again suggests this LP has maybe had a handful of careful plays only, it shows no signs of any wear at all.
There are a couple of very tiny hairlines but certainly nothing of which spoils the play. There are no scratches at all, and it is evident this LP simply has not been played for a very very long time
On listening through the whole LP was a stunning listen and asides from some very light incidental static in a couple of places there is nothing to spoil the play here.
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE SLEEVE MINT-
Correct FLAT MATT TEXTURED Gatefold first issued earliest sleeve by 'Howards' -- this is straight out the box from 1978
The edges are all super clean with only some very feint traces of rub on the bottom extreme edge, and the tips also have the tiniest of tip rub.
All colours and inks remain in outstanding condition- The textured finish is immaculate and whereas many copies have powdery wear and scuff, this sleeve remains in absolute museum condition.
No powdery white ringwear or even ring press of any note, and all edges are super crisp.
The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with no hint of handling
The open out of the gatefold is simply perfect, no dulling, white rub or wear at all.
The spine edge is totally unmarked and all legends are perfect-there are no spots or signs of any wear at all! Just some very very feint discolour on the spine edge
