LATIN SOUL / AIN'T NO BIG THING ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by RALFI PAGAN. Original French pressing on the DISC JOCKEY label (17 552), from 1968. Cult, psychedelic latin soul double-sider. This is the original '60s French issue and not the cheap repress by Vampi Soul. Both LATIN SOUL and AIN'T NO BIG THING are killer examples of the groovy El Barrio / NYC boogaloo / Spanish Harlem sound featuring Pagan's soulful vocals over hypnotic R&B cum low rider latin funk rhythms. Great for DJs. Lots of sleazy congas / new breed R&B / doo wop-esque vocal backing / handclaps / latin jazz vibraphone / montuno piano vamps / downtempo funk bassline etc. Cool shout-out to the mighty James Brown on here too. Seldom comes up for sale. Produced by Fania label founder Jerry Masucci and Harvey Averne with arrangements by Marty Sheller. Striking, psychedelic artwork sleeve. Rare 45!!!

Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Light surface noises. The thick card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with light general wear. Some corner and edge wear. Ring dirt marks to back sleeve. Rare 45!!!
