The 78 RPM record plays with excellent fidelity, and shows full gloss, with a mostly clean playing surface. Please see the scans, and listen to the full sound file. Nice UK reissue transferred from the original Paramount record.

Ramblin' Thomas (1902–1945) was an American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. He was the brother of another blues musician, Jesse Thomas. Thomas is best remembered for his slide guitar playing, and recording several pieces in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Blues scholars seem undecided if Thomas's nickname of Ramblin' was in reference to his style of playing, or itinerant  nature.

Willard Thomas was born in Logansport, Louisiana, one of nine children. His father played the fiddle, and three brothers Joe L., Jesse, and Willard learnt to play the guitar, with Willard particularly practising slide guitar techniques. The Thomas clan  were sons of an old-time fiddler and were raised in Louisiana close to the Texas border. The boys got into playing guitar after looking with admiration at various models in a Sears catalog. Jesse Thomas has recalled that the mail-order guitar purchased by his brother, Willard Ramblin’ Thomas, came equipped with a metal bar for playing slide; indicating the tremendous popularity of country blues at the time or the possibility that someone at Sears knew the guitar was headed into the arms of a Southern bluesman.
 

Thomas relocated to Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas in the late 1920s, and was influenced by the playing of Lonnie Johnson. He performed in San Antonio, Oklahoma and possibly St. Louis, Missouri in his subsequent travels. Thomas recorded in both Dallas and Chicago between 1928 and 1932, for Paramount Records and Victor Records.

Thomas reportedly died of tuberculosis in 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Shipping to EUROPE, ASIA, AND AUSTRALIA via FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL AIR MAIL is $22.50. (Sorry that the USPS increased their rates this year!) Delivery time is usually one to two weeks, depending on foreign customs, and each destination. Registered mail is required for any interantional shipments with a value over $100 for buyer and seller protection on Ebay and Paypal. Registered mail costs an additional $12.00 above normal shipping costs.  Packages with four or more records sent to international destinations require Priority Mail due to the weight of the package. USPS charges by weight. Any package over two pounds goes to $34.50, over three pounds to $49.50, and over four pounds to higher rates.

                                             First class international mail service can not track the item after it leaves the United States.

International customers who want insurance and/or tracking must use either registered or global express mail service. (These services are not available with first class postal international mail service.) Registered mail takes a week longer, due to security handling. International registered mail services for one record costs $19.00. Global Express Mail costs approximately $40.00. If the amount is less, I will refund you the difference. After winning a record, please notify me, if you desire these services. I can send you an amended Ebay invoice, with the desired shipping services.

N- (78) Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage
E+ (78) Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets
E (78) Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches
E- (78) Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, few light scratches
V+ (78) V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Still attains some original luster. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.
V (78) Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive
