RAMONES 2008 Set of 4 Unreleased Picture Disc Test Pressing LPs Studio Albums

Ramones - Rocket To Russia (Rhino)
Ramones - Road To Ruin (Rhino)
2008 set of four test pressings of proposed picture disc reissues of Ramones first four studio albums. This was intended as a Rhino Records project, but the picture discs were never released. They were cancelled and only a few test pressings exist. No label copy sheets or covers. A note attached to this set mentioned they were pressed by Rainbo, but the matrix info stamped in the trail-off area suggests they might have been pressed in the Czech Republic. Discs come housed in generic, plain white die-cut covers.
The albums included in this series are "The Ramones", "Leave Home" "Rocket To Russia" and "Road To Ruin".
'A' side matrix stamps for each disc is as follows:
"The Ramones": RHINO R1-7520 A 79806E1/A
"Leave Home": RHINO R1-7528 SIDE A 79605E1/A
"Rocket To Russia": RHINO R1-6042 A 79606E1/A
"Road To Ruin": RHINO R1-6063 SIDE A 79607E1/A
It is unknown why Rhino cancelled the reissues. Whether they were rejected for any particular reason, we don't know. Some of these catalog numbers were re-used in 2011 for a series of 180-gram reissues, but no picture discs were a part of that series.
We know these are 100% authentic because they came from a former Rhino Records executive.
It's very hard to find a set of test pressings like this that show the sometimes quirky nature of the LP production process. A must-own for Ramones and/or test pressing completists!

We grade conservatively, accurately and honestly. S/S, M, M- (NM), VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, WBR (Poor). We do not use EX (many dealers' EX would be our VG).
