THE RAMONES "THE RAMONES" SIRE SASD 7520 VERY RARE FIRST PRESSING OF THIS NEW WAVE/PUNK ROCK CLASSIC FROM 1976!! AUTOGRAPHED WITH 4 SIGNATURES!!! IT APPEARS THAT MARKY SIGNED ON THE FRONT, ON JOEY'S LEG, AND THAT JOHNNY, DEE DEE AND JOEY SIGNED ON THE BACK. JOHNNY, JOEY, AND DEE DEE ARE GONE SO FINDING ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS OF THESE PUNK GODFATHERS WILL ONLY BECOME MORE DIFFICULT WITH EVERY PASSING YEAR. COVER SHOWS MODERATE WEAR BUT ALL SIGNATURES ARE VERY VISIBLE AND EAST TO READ. VINYL IS IN VG++ CONDITION WITH LIGHT SCUFFS. With the three-chord assault of "Blitzkrieg Bop," The Ramones begins at a blinding speed and never once over the course of its 14 songs does it let up. The Ramones is all about speed, hooks, stupidity, and simplicity. The songs are imaginative reductions of early rock & roll, girl group pop, and surf rock. Not only is the music boiled down to its essentials, but the Ramones offer a twisted, comical take on pop culture with their lyrics, whether it's the horror schlock of "I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement," the gleeful violence of "Beat on the Brat," or the maniacal stupidity of "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." And the cover of Chris Montez's "Let's Dance" isn't a throwaway -- with its single-minded beat and lyrics, it encapsulates everything the group loves about pre-Beatles rock & roll. They don't alter the structure, or the intent, of the song, they simply make it louder and faster. And that's the key to all of the Ramones' music -- it's simple rock & roll, played simply, loud, and very, very fast. None of the songs clock in at any longer than two and half minutes, and most are considerably shorter. In comparison to some of the music the album inspired, The Ramones sounds a little tame -- it's a little too clean, and compared to their insanely fast live albums, it even sounds a little slow -- but there's no denying that it still sounds brilliantly fresh and intoxicatingly fun.The image included with the auction is a scan of the actual item but, due to size limitations of the scanner, the edges of the item may have been cropped.

RECORD GRADING POLICY
MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale
EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play
VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play
VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.
VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.
Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like
Fair = you are getting this record just to own but not to play
Poor = the sky's the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest
