Description
A couple of years back, over a couple of fun trips, I bought a huge vinyl collection from a friend who worked with me at Phantom Records (in the '90's) and who'd amassed a gigantic collection of wonderfully kept and thoroughly researched LP's, 7"s and relevant 12"s - from the classic punk era (1976-1981) was his specialty, but also records from the few years after that era, as some of those bands progressed into the mid-'80's while keeping their integrity intact (the likes of Public Image, Siouxsie, the Cure spring to mind). To give you an example of his fastidiousness, his collection included 60 different editions of the Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks" LP - from every conceivable country, and every edition he could uncover. Anyway, he's been particular about maintaining items in their original condition - most he bought brand new at the time...(however this may mean that some he picked up second-hand weren't exactly mint to start with - those will be obvious by the gradings below). He'd been buying records I believe from about 1975/76 right up until recently. It's a truly wonderful collection; he'd not sold any of it previously so it was complete - some of the items are super rare and some are simply very nice copies of classic records - and I felt utterly privileged to be offered it first. Mostly though, YOU get to benefit from his meticulousness.

ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? : Yes, it is...comes in numbered pic sleeve...this one is #000774 of 12,000...and its matrix details are:

Here's a bit of a ramble from a Ramones site:
The release of Sheena Is A Punk Rocker in the UK was backed up with full page ads in the music press – and a t-shirt offer.
The first 1,000 buyers who posted the perforated 'push-out' Ramones eagle emblem from the back of sleeve together with 99p got an "hand-finished T-shirt".
The campaign resulted in a peak at number 22 in the UK single chart.
Sheena was released in the UK in May 1977 both as a 12" and a 7" single. The 12" has a great picture sleeve with that perforated eagle emblem on the back for the T-shirt offer. It was limited to 12,000 numbered copies.
The single, on the other hand, only came in a Phonogram company bag, no picture sleeve.
The perforated eagle emblem is fully intact.

CONDITION:
COVER: ( EX- )...beautiful!...has small seam split at the bottom, but NO splits on the sides (opens from the top), and some minor ringwear/creasing...
RECORD: ( VG++ )...looks great, with lots of shine still...has a few light scuffs and 'hair-line' marks only (nothing even remotely heavy)...plays M- (so close to perfectly...just has some tiny crackles in the lead-in and run-out grooves...and as if they really matter!)...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...
