Offered here is a factory sealed vintage stereo pressing of Wade in the Water by the great Ramsey Lewis, released on Cadet Records 774. A crossover jazz smash in 1966, the title track became a signature anthem, driven by gospel rhythms and Lewis’ irresistibly joyful piano style.
A perfect mix of soul-jazz and pop crossover, the album features instrumental covers of then-current hits like “Ain’t That Peculiar,” “Day Tripper,” and “Uptight,” all delivered in Lewis’s upbeat, groove-driven style.
