Rare, influential old-school  7-inch 45 rpm single featuring rap pioneer MR. MAGIC on the MAGIC RECORDS label out of Connecticut, from 1980. 

Titles are "Rappin' With Mr. Magic" (5:00) on both sides.  I believe both tracks are the same.  First time I have ever seen this rare single.

This record is a stock copy, blue label with silver print.  PROD. BY TONY PEARSON on label.  Does not have a catalog number.  Matrix number in runout area is CX347ABS.      

Visually would grade at around VG-.  It was not played a lot – it retains most of the original gloss – but was handled rather roughly by its original owner, and so there are scuffs and minor hairlines that create audible tics and surface noise that in places can be distracting.  There are no skips.  The first side plays quite a bit better than the second.

I have included a separate sound clip for each side so you can hear the sound quality and determine whether this copy is acceptable to you. 

The labels are fine – a bit of minor wear, but no writing, rips, stickers, or other problems.

Hi, After posting my description, I became aware that the Mr. Magic on this record may not be the same Mr. Magic who was on the radio in New York City.  At least, according to the description written by the person who sold several copies of the12-inch single version of this record that I found on popsike.com.  He claims THIS Mr. Magic is not the same as the New York City Mr. Magic.  So I am not sure they are the same.  But I do know is that this is a rare and important record, and if I find out additional information I will post it.  Thank you for your interest.
