UNFORTUNATLY THESE RARE RECORDINGS OF GIRAUD OF THE MID OF 1910’S WHEN CAME OUT ARE ALWAYS WELL USED.

THIS IS NOT A TOP COPY BUT A GOOD COPY FOR THOSE ARE WAITING TO FIND A RECORD OF HIM TO HEAR HIS VOICE.

Fiorello GIRAUD (1868 – 1928)

Having made his debut as Lohengrin in 1891.Giraud went on to create Canio in the world premiere of Pagliacci (1892). His repertoire was diverse, although he specialized in Wagneria roles, in 1907 singing Siegfried in the La Scala premiere if Gotterdammerung and the same season Pelleas in that house’s premiere of Debussy’s Pelleas et Melisande.

HIS RECORDING ARE BOTH FEW AND RARE.

E + A choice copy no wear whatsoever.

E Excellent. Virtually no trace of groove wear with only minimal traces of use and handling.

E – An above average record .

E = Record with slight degree if groove wear, but not enough to seriously detract from its audio quality.

V + + Obviously well played but still enjoyable. Noticeable greying in the grooves

V + Very well worn but listenable Expect the surface noise to be significant. There may be stressed grooves.

V Stressed grooves more pronounced.

I try to be conservative on grading and list some important and also unknown Italian singers.
