Description
THELONIOUS MONK QUINTET with Frank Foster and Art Blakey 10" LP on PRESTIGE - PRLP-180 This LP is in excellent condition but has one area on side A that has a crackle.( see record grading below) This goes for about half way through the track...but lessens as it goes from the start. The rest of the lp plays excellent. The cover is in very good condition with some wear on the corners were the record slips into the jacket with about a 1/4 " slit. Other than that the front and back cover have minimal wear.I AM STARTING THE BIDDING ON THIS ALBUM HIGH BECAUSE OF ITS RARITY!!! SONG LISTING IS AS FOLLOWS: SIDE A; 1. We See 2. Smoke Gets In Your Eyes / SIDE B; 1. Locomotive 2. Hackensack 1."NEW OR MINT" meaning the LP should be absolutely perfect.Even brand new sealed items can be flawed and not qualify as mint.
2."NEAR MINT" meaning almost perfect, you may see very tiny flaws or very slight wear, including very light scuff marks. 3."EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+" meaning a minimum of visual or audible imperfections, some visual wear, surface noise is evident.
4."VERY GOOD" ,meaning a little more signs of wear, labels may be marred with some writing or tape or stickers, same with the sleeves, light scratches will be able to be felt with fingernail.
5."GOOD" meaning the item is not bad, but will show definite signs of wear & tear, probably evidence that no real care was given to the item, but should play without skipping, more surface noise is evident.

Thelonious Monk, who was criticized by observers who failed to listen to his music on its own terms, suffered through a decade of neglect before he was suddenly acclaimed as a genius; his music had not changed one bit in the interim. In fact, one of the more remarkable aspects of Monk's music was that it was fully formed by 1947 and he saw no need to alter his playing or compositional style
