Description




New Orleans Rhythm Kings " Clarinet Marmalade " 1st side and Jelly Roll Morton's Incomparables " Mr. Jelly Lord (Slow Drag) " on the other side. Rare labels. BUDDY #8004  78 RPM ca. 1920s. (I just guessed at the date in the particulars above). Not in great condition. MANY scratches and scuffs etc. Some can be felt. Dull finish. It also has a crack.From the rim to the label.  HEAVY groove wear at the begging on the A side. It plays with a LOT of noise (crackling/popping/sizzling) on the A side; especially at the beginning but it improves a bit further along. The crack doesn't cause skips or hesitations. You can hear it though (ticks). The B side plays better. Still a lot of noise (crackling/sizzling) and there are still some "ticks" caused by the crack but no skips or hesitations. (The ticks aren't any worse than the other noise). Not really bad near the end on this side. You can recognize the instruments. With the right equipment you may be able to remove some of the noise. The labels have some wear and scratches and groove tracks. NOTE: This one is being sold AS IS.
