RARE 1932 "Eddie Peabody and His Banjo" Plectrum Banjo Instruction Book . Condition is Used.
This book was written by the famous Vaudeville-style soloist entertainer Eddie Peabody, "The Banjo Wizard" and master of the plectrum (4-string). A "rock star" of his times, he toured the world and played to packed houses. His unique, and technically-mind-blowing style inspired other players for decades as they aimed to imitate him, a seemingly unreachable goal. The 9" x 12" book has 44 pages. They include everything form basic lessons to more complex tunes offered in pairs of banjo and piano arrangements. It also includes some biographical information, his travels, his type of banjo, and how recordings are made. Sadly, at some point in time within the last year, it appears to have suffered from moisture damage, mostly on the cover and front pages and diminishing toward the last pages. In spite of this, there is NO mildew or musty smell. It might have been exposed to condensation as it was under glass. Very unfortunate to see, but this is still an extremely rare item!
