These are Extremely Rare Uncoated Aluminum Radio Show Transcription Discs featuring the "Salad Bowl Revue" radio program from October 27, 1933 starring Fred Allen
These discs contain approximately 20 minutes of a 30 minute program, the commercials and music were not recorded. There are three 10 inch 78 rpm discs
These discs were recorded for radio star Rudy Vallee who was a big fan of Fred Allen, and are most likely the only copies of this radio broadcast. These discs came directly from the estate of Rudy Vallee
The program stars Fred Allen with Portland Hoffa & Roy Atwell. Program includes a skit where Fred Allen is the editor of "The Daily Busy Body" newspaper. Program includes a skit where Fred Allen is the "man on the street" reporter taking an election pole.
Program includes a very funny skit where Fred Allen meets Roy Atwell at a football game where Roy Atwell is the play by play announcer for the radio broadcast of the game. Very, very funny! Roy Atwell would go on to be the voice of "Doc", one of the dwarfs in the animated Disney classic "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs".
Discs are in very good condition with very good sound. These are actually some of the better sounding uncoated aluminum discs that I have heard. The labels on side 4 and 5 are switched (the label for side 4 is on side 5, and the label for side 5 is on side 4)
