This is a rare disc containing the premiere performance of Morton Gould's "Swing Symphonette No. 2"
This disc, recorded by Universal Recording Company, Radio City New York, is 12 inches, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 78 rpm
Originally broadcast on January 3, 1938 over radio station WOR
Disc contains approximately 9 minutes 20 seconds. Begins with the announcer giving an excellent introduction of Morton Gould's "Swing Symphonette No. 2".
The announcer states "Tonight We Present The Premiere Of The Second Swing Symphonette" and "The First Performance Of The Morton Gould Second Swing Symphonette"
The Symhonette is complete in three movements titled "Lively", "Swing Time Pavanne" & "Presto" (finale). Applause is heard after the performance
I believe this piece of music is also described as "American Symphonette No. 2"
The announcer does not indicate the name of the orchestra, any of the musicians, or if Morton Gould is present, or conducting the orchestra. The announcer is not identified.
I have seen a later date of a premiere of this piece of music of July 1938, so this disc was a little confusing. I did find it interesting that the piece was introduced as "Swing Symphonette No 2", as it is more commonly known as "American Symphonette No 2."

An extremely rare, one-of-a-kind disc. I could not find any reference to any existing copy of this radio broadcast in any online radio log or database
Disc is in Excellent- Condition with Excellent or better Sound, beautiful sound. There are two, very, very small nicks in the acetate which are visible in the scans that cause a couple of short clicks, no skips.
