Description

"Boston Symphony" radio show transcription discs issued by The Armed Forces Radio Service.  45 minutes of a 55 minute radio broadcast on these two 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issed to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!

Please note these discs contain approximately 45 minutes of a 55 minute radio broadcast.  These discs contain parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 of 5 parts.

"Boston Symphony" radio program #49 from October 14, 1944 featuring the Boston Symphony performing from Symphony Hall in Boston, MA ,  conducted by Serge Koussevkitzky 

Music includes:

1. "National Anthem" - selection is complete

2. "Suite In E Major For String Orchestra" by Arthur Foote - this selection is complete

3. "2nd Symphony" by David Diamond - this selection is approximately 26 minutes and is most likely incomplete as the closing minutes of the radio program are not on these discs, and there is no applause that would indicate the completion of the selection.

It is announced that this is "The First Performance Anywhere" of David Diamond's 2nd Symphony

Discs are in Excellent condition with Excellent sound, beautiful discs!  

Please note that 16 inch transcription discs will not play on most standard turntables due to their size.  I can make a CD copy of the discs for the buyer only for $10
