Description
Rare Aluminum Acetate Master recording of a life performance on 4/30/1945 by Guy Lombardo, titled "BUZ BUZ BUZ" broadcast by WJZ in New York, NY. The record begins with announcer stating this is a special song for the "CHELSEA HOUR". The tune begins with a bouncy instrumental then the lyrics of "BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ (WILL YOU BE MY HONEY)" a song that was a hit years later, for the jump blues/ R&B group, The Treniers. This may be the only recording of this song, by the Guy Lombardo band, as I can't find any other recordings in his discography. Definitely a rare, conversation piece.
Cut on a 12" acetate coated metal AUDIODISC recording blank.
'NOLA RECORDING STUDIOS' label shows wear, but is readable. Back is blank.
Condition: G
I generally do not sell records in "Good" or worse condition... But unique recordings such as this one, are exceptions. There is light crazing and a few little chips, in the acetate on the edges and back, but none in the recorded area of the platter. Lots of scratches, swirl marks, though it still maintains a lot of it's original gloss. The record plays with surface noice, but no skips, all the way through.
Will be shipped in a foam sleeve, and well packed.
Please note that my grading is VISUAL (not play graded). Some records may play better or worse than visual appearance...then again you know that; because you are a record collector too! Generally, my records will be better than described...but returns are always accepted - no questions asked
Visual Grading Scale for Records:
Sealed: Jacket is sealed in the original shrink wrap.
NM : Near perfect, no visible signs of wear
EX : A few visual imperfections, very, very light marks (e.g. sleeve scuffs)
VG+ : May have light marks and at least one light scratch
VG : The record will display greater numbers of light marks and scratches
VG- : At least one mark of which can be felt with a fingernail
G : The record will have heavy wear: any amount of marks, both lighter and those which can be felt with a fingernail
Poor : Records with this grade should be considered unplayable
