Description
Here is a RARE vintage album from my collection offered up for sale: The Wizard Of Oz 1956 soundtrack album released by MGM Records E 3464 Mono, was released in coordination with the first TV broadcast of the movie. This is a 1960 pressing, on heavy weight rigid vinyl with the 1960's style black labels, has the MGM printed paper inner sleeve showing the album. This is the last pressing that featured the original cast portrait cover of Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley and Bert Laher. Listening to it walks you through the movie with all the classic dialogue and original songs, classic sounds and RARE collectable!
The vinyl grades strong VG, is clean and glossy, has a few faint sleeve marks, a few light marks, a couple small more moderate (feel-able) marks on both sides, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays through from start to finish with very good sound, clear sound with a few errant pops noticeable in some quiet spots, overall minimal surface noise and a VERY enjoyable listen, no skips or jumps! Paper inner sleeve has age discoloration and fraying at opening, partial seam splits. The cover rates strong VG+, is clean and bright, great front portraits of the cast with no ring wear - has one tiny light stain in upper corner that is barely noticeable, the edges have only light wear but all seams had partial splits that have been neatly glued, no tape, binder edge only partly readable, back cover is clean with minimal age discoloration, has a small pen writing near bottom, has been very well cared for! Will be shipped in a protective plastic outer sleeve inside a secure record mailing box with tracking number.
