Description
Here is a cool folk album from my collection offered up for sale: The album "The Kingston Trio", released by Capitol Records T996 MONO, this is a 1958 1st pressing with "turquoise" labels and heavy vinyl, RARE early label. This one has been a well cared for 62 year old album!
This is their first album, features self penned "Tom Dooley" with thought provoking lyrics and cover of "Sloop John B.", the trio's smooth vocal harmonies and great acoustic backing music inspired Beach Boys hit version, cool!
The vinyl rates VG+/EX, is glossy and clean, side one has only a couple small light marks, side two has a few more, nothing heavy! PLAY TESTED, plays very good from start to finish with bright clear sound with a bit of light background surface noise heard in quiet spots, no skips or jumps, a very enjoyable listen! The labels have only a few spindle marks, one of the labels has a sticker shadow.
The cover rates strong EX, has beautiful frame worthy front portrait with deep color and no ring wear, edges/corners have minimal wear, no splits, no tape, binder edge is EX and readable, back has minimal age discoloration, has a few faint what looks like coffee splash stains (barely noticeable). Paper sleeve is clean, has age discoloration and a couple small splits at opening, center splits neatly taped. (see all photos)
Will be shipped in a .3 ml plastic sleeve in a record box with tracking. Vinyl will be shipped in "throw away" paper sleeve outside the cover to prevent cover/sleeve splits.
