Description
Here is a scarce album from my collection, offered up for sale: The Big Bopper album, "Chantilly Lace", released in 1959 (just after his death*) by Mercury Records, MG 20402 (mono), has baggie inner sleeve. This is a 1959 1st pressing with heavy vinyl and black and silver labels. This HISTORIC album features hit songs "White Lightning", "Chantilly Lace" and fun songs "Big Boppers Wedding", "It's The Truth Ruth", "The Preacher and The Bear" and more, a GREAT listen!
*Tragic to lose JP Richardson so soon! He was killed in a plane crash February 3rd 1959 with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens plus their young pilot Roger Peterson. Their music lives on forever!
The vinyl rates VG, has several light marks and a couple small more moderate ones on both sides, has been PLAY TESTED. Plays very good from start to finish, bright sound with a few light background pops, nothing heavy, no skips or jumps and a very enjoyable listen!
The cover rates EX, has great front art with gloss, has a bend to the slick at opening that is somewhat unnoticeable, edges and corners show minimal handling wear, no splits, no tape, binder edge EX and readable, one corner has bump, back has bright white, no stains, no writing, baggie clean, no splits, has been a well cared for 61 year old cover!
