Description


Up for auction/sale is an incredibly rare, one-of-a-kind mid-1960s garage rock artifact. This is a vintage Audiodisc Recording Blank acetate disc (cut in New York, U.S.A.) featuring a completely undocumented, obscure local band named "The Fugitives."

Because this is a direct lacquer-cut acetate blank (often referred to as a dubplate) and not a mass-produced pressed vinyl record, this is a true piece of music history. It was likely recorded live in a small local studio or radio station setup and never commercially released.

This may very well be the only copy in existence

there is NO flaking, cracking, or peeling of the lacquer surface whatsoever, which is rare for acetates of this age.

• The disc shows a few minor visual surface scuffs and light scratches, but nothing deep or severe. It has been well-preserved


Sold untested / visually graded only. Acetates are composed of a very soft, delicate nitrocellulose lacquer over an aluminum core. To preserve the integrity of the grooves for the winning bidder, it has not been played on a modern turntable.

An update on this I played it day before yesterday. Just for a minute I call it garage rock my cousin called it rockabilly so it is somewhere in that round. Also, it is one-sided.
