Rockin' Robin Roberts (1940-1967) has a (stylized) representation of this single on his tombstone.  This 1961 recording of Richard Berry's Louie Louie was the first in the Pacific Northwest.  Tacoma, Washington's Wailers featured guitarist Rich Dangel (1942-2002), who did the innovative arrangement of the song & gets credit for originating the iconic 3 power chords eternally identified with the tune.  Etiquette Records was the Wailers' own label, but ironically, they couldn't issue the single under their band name because they were already signed to Golden Crest.  So it was issued by lead singer Roberts as Etiquette #1.

This single is often cited as the first "Seattle Sound" 45, making this scarce promo truly historic.  We offer a humble tip of the Hatlo hat to our friend Rich Dangel, the originator of the rockin' Northwest sound who actually preferred jazz!
