Here is a Very, Very RARE - MEET THE BEATLES - Paste Over Cover. I am amazed that this piece is not covered as much as the Butcher LP Paste Overs have been. No body knows how many of these exist, the last one that I found that was offered was about 18 months ago.

From what I understand this cover is the 3rd jacket released by Capitol which Capitol never wanted to purchase the Beatles period, however after they saw how well the Beatles did on their 1st LP and 4 singles they bought them up and put together a huge head of steam and fanfair for the liverpool four that was not matched by any other act in the Capitol stable. So here is where the the Paste over comes in, Capitol sold out so fast that the second release of Meet The Beatles was release right on the heels of the first, the astounding thing was that the third (This one) was released before any more jackets could be made so the workers simply grabbed what ever jackets that were available, use a larger back label that folded over the seams by 3/4" to cover the original LP numbers and spine names then added the front slick to complete the process.

The front slick on this one is in great shape, no ring wear what so ever! It does have abour 1-1/2" tear at the top, and rool marks by Ringo from lifting the slick. 

Under the front slick is the 1962 release of Arch Obolers - DROP DEAD! An Exercise In Horror! which in and of itself is an Awesome jacket, it is a solid black background with a grainy white skull floating in the certer of the cover.

The back of the jacket - first thing you notice is there is NO George Martin Producer in the bottom left and the second and most interesting there is NO factory number. That is how fast they had to pump these LP's out, mistakes were made on a lot of the Beatles releases however I think this is one of the most interesting...

Vinyl:

1.) Has some scuffing and light marks Plays Good with hissing between tracks~  (VG)

2.)  Same as side 1 (VG)

LABELS: 

Very Nice, see scans.

Cover:

Slick: VG+ Outside of the obvious peel the fron slick is Really CLEAN with NO Ring marks on the front or back.

Integrity: NM - Nice Seams and Spine~~
