Up for auction is the original, ultra-rare 1965 pressing of "Kokeshi Shindig" by Paul Mark, released on the Honolulu label Sounds of Hawaii, Inc. (SH-5019).

This is a top-tier, collector-grade "In Shrink" copy. It is not sealed, but this is the next best thing!

Condition Details

• VINYL: NEAR MINT (NM). The vinyl is absolutely beautiful. It retains its original, bright, deep-black gloss and appears to have been barely, if ever, played. We could not find a single mark on it.

• COVER: NEAR MINT (NM). The cover is in stunning, sharp condition, as it has been preserved under its original factory shrink-wrap since 1965. The corners are sharp and the graphics are bright.

• INSERTS: COMPLETE. This copy includes the original lyric insert sheet (as noted on the back cover) and the original "ffrr" (Full Frequency Range Recording) paper inner sleeve.

About the Album

This is the ultimate mid-century novelty record! The back cover describes it as "a delightful treatment of Japanese songs with a beat by Paul Mark." The songs are performed by "The Kokeshi Dolls," who are described as a "group of Tamukis (Japanese raccoons)."
