Description
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Original MONO 1st Pressing!
On offer here is a rare, original 1st pressing copy of the iconic Beatles LP 'Sgt. Peppers' on the yellow / black Parlophone label! Comes with the cut-out insert but unfortunately not with the original 'Fool' inner sleeve.
In 1966, the year before this LP was released, stereo had become the more common format. this was due to both prices for stereophonic record players coming down so that average house-holds could afford one and the cost of stereo LPs coming down in price to match their mono counterparts. Because of this, the original mono copies of this LP are harder to find than the stereo.
Also, the mono pressing is more desireable because the mixes in some of the songs are noticeably different to the more common stereo mixes. A list of these differences can be found HERE.
a very nice, respectable copy of this highly collectible LP!
The photos below are of the actual record for sale. The vinyl has been visually graded.

The Cover - VG++
The cover is holding up pretty nicely for its age! The front cover has a couple of light laminate creases but nothing too serious. There's no wear, tear, stickermarks, penmarks or anything like that. The top and bottom seams are both holding up nicely. the spine is a little crushed but has no splits or tears on it. The gatefold is beautifully rich in colour with no wear or anything! The over-flaps are both holding strongly. The back cover is looking great with just a few, little creases in the laminate.
The Disc - VG+/EX-
The disc is looking really nice for its age! It has a lovely shine to it and just a very faint, occasional hairline scuff! Beautiful!
The Labels - NM
Both labels are looking beautiful with nothing more than just a few, very light little pindlemarks around the centerhole. Awesome, awesome labels!!
