PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. ORIGINAL 1967 FIRST PRESS TRIPPED-OUT EXOTICA PSYCH GARAGE GEM!
THE CEYLEIB PEOPLE
TANYET
\ USA - VAULT RECORDS - 117
Always been rare/hard to find, so lesser known to some extent, the Original 1967 first pressing on the highly collected "VAULT" label (20th Century Zoo, etc)
The brainchild of successful session musician/producer Mike Deasy (sitar, guitar) and guitar whiz Ry Cooder (slide guitar), The Ceyleib People were a studio band that created a psychedelic blend of Indian and Western music - a truly unique sound for 1967 when their only album, "Tanyet," was originally released. Besides Deasey and Cooder, the band included Deasy's 6-year old son Michael "Sean" Deasy (drum, vocals); studio greats Joe Osborne (bass, engineer); Larry Knechtel (bass, keyboards); Jim Gordon (drums); and the cat who played brilliant fuzz guitar on the Goldenrod and Darius Lp's, Mr. Ben Benay (sitar) -- an amazing line-up of future L.A. studio regulars who went on to play on countless hit albums over the years including those of The Beach Boys, Derek and The Dominos, as well as several Phil Spector related projects.
The CEYLEIB PEOPLE created an Amazing psych-raga bluesy rock LP! The album, due to rarity, is an unknown, underrated "classic" project by Ry Cooder. With a lot of inventions and variations, this music conciliates eastern buzzing ragas to rocking energy and progressive arrangements. The opening track (side 1) (divided into 5 parts) features a catchy bluesy vibe, nice percussions parts and evocative, dreamy like flute passages. Rapidly, the composition explores in a meditative style sitar / flute combinations...after 3 minutes, we have the return of Ry Cooder's typical guitar sound, communicating with inspired "ethereal" keyboards and buzzing sitar strings. It finishes with violin like strings with some expeditive classical covers...really enigmatic and passionate song. The second composition; side 2 (for 6 parts) also alternate bluesy rock interludes and raga sonorities...featuring very catchy melodies and rhythms. Throughout BOTH sides you the grooves delivering equal parts of creative exotic instrumentations as described above, including some Mellotron backing. Overall, impressive bluesy-folky-psych raga phantasies!
