We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.                 THE RENEGADES

                 HALF and HALF

                 ITALY -  Ariston Records ?– AR/0162

VERY HARD TO FIND...ultimately collectible... Original 1967 first print, Italian only release by the British band who relocated, issuing some 5 collectible Lp's, none harder to find than their HALF & HALF LP ::::

The Renegades were such a phenomenon in Finland that they inspired probably thousands of young people to play and form bands.

This Birmingham U.K. beat group formed in 1964. They relocated to Italy in the mid-sixties and actually had several albums released out there, and in other countries such as Holland. Obviously popular in Finland, as well, they also appeared in a film Topralli (“Top Rally”), directed by Yrjo Tahtela in 1966.

One of their more interesting releases (and popular now with the "in" crowd) was "13 Women," released in Europe, which found its way onto the UK "President" label for a 1968 45rpm.The Renegades story begins during the early 1960s in Perry Barr, Birmingham where the band was formed. The line-up consisted of Kim Brown (lead vocal), Denys "Denny" Gibson (guitar), Ian Mallet (bass guitar) and Graham Johnson (drums). The Renegades' real success came when they went to play a few dates in Helsinki, Finland in October of 1964. Finnish rock promoter/manager Leo Heinonen had the idea to invite The Renegades for a visit but the positive reaction to the group there was such that they ended up staying for two months! They may have been able to walk through England's Birmingham high street unnoticed, but The Renegades were superstars in Finland. Bigger than The Beatles, in fact. The reception from pop-starved Finns was so overwhelming that the band, who wore American civil war uniforms, stayed for seven weeks. It wasn't long before the group were in the midst of a snowy winter going from one venue to another in their van (without a heater or winter tires). Their stage show was wilder than anything previously seen in that country and they were soon regarded as substitutes for 'The Beatles' as the Fab Four never played in Finland. The Renegades also toured Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Italy. Some of their music was released in those countries but proved to be the most popular in Italy where the band found more success. The Renegades were invited to play in the coveted Italian San Remo Music festival in 1966. They recorded a couple of singles for release in Italy (sung in Italian) like 'Un Giorno Tu Mi Cercherai' and the un-characteristic L'amore é Blu that reached the Italian Top Twenty. Strangely, none of The Renegades records dented the British charts despite their success in Europe.

Releasing FIVE collectible/sought Lp's between 1965 and 1967, "Half & Half" was their last LP, seldom EVER seen, especially in fine shape as this copy is ... dominated by guitar led jangle pop-craft moody melodies & beat rock numbers, one side sung in English, the other one in italian. Original recordings by The Renegades have since aroused much interest in collectors of 1960s "garage" or "freakbeat"
