Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. The German BEAT-ROCK SIXTIES SCENE
- ORIGINAL 1968 FIRST PRESS ..|/\|...............................................|/\|..

- GERMANY - LIBERTY Records - 83204 1
- RARE/Original 1968 first printing by THE PETARDS, a German beatrock and Krautrock band, very popular in their day, they issued After Bernd Varell had produced the Petard’s first LP record, Sigi Loch took over the role of supervisor on behalf of Liberty Records Germany. Loch later founded ACT Records, one of the most renowned European contemporary jazz labels. The cooperation with Sigi Loch came into fruition through the recommendation of producers and promoters, Lippmann+Rau.
In the studio the Petards proved to be artists with a high expertise, professional musicians with great stage experience. So they recorded the single Pretty Liza in only 30 minutes (but needed 14 hours for the B-side Rainbows And Butterflies...). In terms of sound, 'The Petards' is based on the band's most successful album at the time, the debut LP 'A Deeper Blue', which sold more than 100,000 copies.
- The Petards, besides bands like "The Lords" or "The Rattles", were one of Germanys most successful and most popular Beat bands in the mid-sixties.
In 1966 Horst Ebert, Klaus Ebert, (git. and voc.) Ruediger "Roger" Waldmann (bass) and Hans Juergen Schreiber (drums) were forming The Petards, Schreiber was replaced in June 1967 by Arno Dittrich, at that time known as best rock - drummer in Germany. Arno's famous drum solo soon became one of the highlights in the band's live performances. With him they won the SWF - New - Generation - Competition, which made it possible to record their first LP "A Deeper Blue". The singles "Shoot Me up To the Moon" as well as "Golden Glass" quickly got number one in HR and SWF hit parades
In the Year 1968 this second album "Petards" released including another radio number one, "Pretty Liza". The very catchy "Misty Island", a single, produced in the same Year still ranks as a classic of the beat era.
Touring excessively throughout Germany, The Petards had been one of the first beat - bands playing behind the so called "Iron Curtain" with their successful concerts in the CSSR.
Particularly The Petards - fan clubs with their tremendous support were extremely helpful for the band's success and sold out venues over these years. In the pop poll of "music express" magazine they were voted to be "Best group of new generations". - On "Album of the Year” The Petards reached a 5th place
1970 their third Album "Hit shock" was released. Appearances on French television and in the "Olympia" in Paris followed. Their single "Blue Fire Light" reached the Top Ten in France and Belgium. They showed their musical versatility with heavy fuzz psych sounds, the guitar parts are of echo-plex value.
By the way, the Petards played live in concert in 1970 to an audience of over 5000, who came to see other stars of the beginning KrautRock scene such as Can, Frumpy and Amon Düül II, just to name a few.
