Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

DINO VALENTI
RARE
STILL IN ORIGINAL OUTER PLASTIC WRAPPER and contains the not often seen "DINO VALENTI" sticker on outer plastic - otherwise the album artist was only detectable on back cover notes.
Original 1968 first pressing that has ALWAYS been hard to find... a GREAT minty 58 years ago printing by a signature popular artist often out & about the San Francisco "Haight Ashbury" hippie scene, who later became lead vocalist & guitarist with the illustrious Quicksilver Messenger Service, having the hit "Fresh Air" and "What About Me."
However spring back to a couple years earlier and discover, Dino Valente's 1968 solo album. It was an authentic relic from the underbelly of the "San Francisco Sound", as you'll ever find. Yeah, he has some weird and engaging arrangements, but there's also a strong element going on. Let's be honest - Dino sounds the same as when he later fronted the loud Quicksilver Messenger Service, he's got that same strained vocal style and delivery. That's one of the things that makes this album a "classic" of sorts: Valente, in all his super-stoned, spaced out romanticism really pioneered the "do it yourself" self-expression in "lo-fi" artistry. The album is a very personal, a very un-commercial record -- and a huge flop at the time, but investigating deeper, it was actually an album that is enduring with appeal - yet went under the record buying public's radar.
Epic records produced only one initial run of the Lp, and now remains a sought collectible. If you enjoy artistic excess, you may really like this album.
Incidentally, "Children of the Sun", was the theme song of the counter culture movement on one important FM station in the San Francisco area (circa mid- to late-60's), and is worth hearing for its historical significance. "New Wind Blowing" is an intense masterpiece - hear it! "Me and My Uncle" became a Grateful Dead play-list classic in te early 70's. Dino liked to do unusual things with his voice in moments of musical passion...skipping octaves, and gliding back down in sort of a whining slide to the original intended notes. His songs are not dance-able. They are intensely personal observations about people, relationships, and ideas. You've never heard anyone like him. Before or since.
