PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. ! CLEAN ! RARE ORIGINAL 1967 first pressing of a leading teen garage band from Canada that had such a swinging sound with a great great vocalist, they should have been huge had they been from the USA or British and with the right promotion backing them... Les Sultans were one of the most popular groups to emerge from the Québec scene of the mid 60s. Originally an outfit known as Les Dowries, they added lead vocalist (and local hearthrob) Bruce Huard and changed their name to Les Sultans. A number of singles were to follow, but it wasn't until they signed with Teledisc in 1966 that things really started happening.The Les SULTAN's second studio album, 1967's "Express" displayed immense creative growth. Showcasing a mixture of originals and popular covers, the album made it clear these guys had been listening to lots of Byrds ('Pour Qui Pourquoi') and English bands such as The Kinks and The Zombies ('Les Filles'). Unlike many of their contemporaries, these guys managed to do more than merely be imitative. Take a song like the original 'To Say You're Sorry'. A great song, it's also one of the earliest slices of rural-rock. Simply put, every ingredient required for a massive hit was here including great songs, fantastic performances and a willingness to experiment (check out the 'Eleanor Rigby'-styled arrangement on 'Tout Ira'). Elsewhere, while most Quebec-based bands were reluctant to record anything in English, The Sultans broke with that tradition including several English performances on the album. It's simply a crime that they didn't enjoy a massive American hit with something like 'Bring Her Back' or their raunchy take of 'Sticks and Stones'. All said, a solid performance filled with suprisingly strong set of material.
