We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The virtually unknown band Ivory modeled their music after the sounds of Jefferson Airplane. In fact, it was produced in 1968 by the Airplane's genius himself, Mr. Al Schmitt. The group features the beautiful female vocals of Chris Christman, and fuzzed-out guitars highlighting the often thrilling affairs...

Ivory may be the finest Jefferson Airplane album not by Jefferson Airplane themselves. It is quite the masterpiece not on a par with Surrealistic Pillow, but as strong as other peak Airplane albums and easily holds its own with many band's from the prime 60's era.

Ivory -- and producers Les Brown Jr. and Al Schmitt -- definitely knew how to get the most out of their relatively minimalistic but talented longhair crew. It would be difficult to over-praise the abilities of Ivory members Kenny Thomure and Mike McCauley, who exhibit a near-telepathic partnership on their organ & fuzz guitar instruments, while Chris Christman's full-bodied vocals are room-filling powerful -- all that plus a really first-rate studio drummer. The songs are strong and lyrically Ivory mostly dispensed with topics of amorousness, instead concentrating on far-out, cosmic concerns ranging from the stars to such nebulous ideas of the inner dimension as "infinite realms of peace" to more era-endemic principles like freedom. The opening "Silver Rains" is perhaps the album's most potent track. A bit ominous and spooky, a bit chaotic and wired, it displays just how dynamic and forceful Christman's vocals could be. Nearly as stellar is the awesome garage psych of "A Thought," complete with guitars so fuzzy you could get a buzz off them and intertwining organ and piano lines that lead into a brief but scintillating rave-up with some of the boogie grooved looseness of Traffic. The album's most beautiful moment, however, is the tender "Losin' Hold," a song with more than a slight resemblance to the give-and-take duets perfected by Marty Balin and Grace Slick. It is nearly up to the standards of the classic ballads on Surrealistic Pillow. Ivory wasn't really able to develop a distinctive personality of their own -- one can only bemoan the band's early demise and speculate how they might have gone on to develop -- but borrowed sound and style or not, the band's sole album stands up as menacing, tough-nosed psychedelia loaded with flashes of genuine brilliance...hard to get, here's a clean original from 42 years ago with no need to upgrade...

CONDITION: The cover: is really hard to find clean, being nearly all black, here, light shelf wear on front (not showing up much in photo-but there), light edge wear, top right  corner ding, and has ages old (from the '60s) store price stickers on front cover which is left in tact. Otherwise solid, was rated VG(+)  ... there is a yellow stain showing on back cover (see photo #2)  there are no split seams, and no writing ....

The vinyl: is clean "EX" (excellent) with all smooth clear grooves on both sides...the silver labels are both clean.... plays fantastic !
