2 OZ's Of Plastic With Hole In Middle

                                        UK - DAWN RECORDS - DNLS 3003

RARE original collectible 1969 British vinyl in old laminated unipack gatefold on the highly collectible DAWN Records label, they of many British underground rock raves & faves of the late 60's/early 70's ... Here, the fabled Welsh group MAN ...their second album and believe what you must with dealing in all the MAN albums, this one is not to be overlooked as a cut or two above the rest in sonic hard psych rock with terrific cuts across both sides, the double acid guitars pumping within killer rated hard tunes akin to the best of the hard psych sound in Britain during this time period.  Heavily influenced by their west coast pysch peers, the performances have tightened and great experimental ideas are flowing. The LP starts with the magnificent Prelude/The Storm - which lasts for over 12 minutes... A really unusual piece to kick off an album with, and it works. It's so full of atmosphere from all musicians. Crashing symbols, a back wash of noise from the Hammond organ and unusual sounds from DEKE LEONARD on guitar, making rather convincing seagull noises. The whole track emulates a storm perfectly as the title would suggest. Other highlights include Spunk Box (known as Spunk Rock to the band and fans). A killer riff opens the track followed by some dirty sounding guitar navigations that twist and turn. This has remained in their live set and has been jammed to a jaw dropping length of 30+ minutes! One the whole this is one of the best albums they've done. It really started to define the MAN sound and deserves all the praise in the world.

1. Prelude / The Storm (12:24)
3. It Is as It Must Be (8:30)
4. Spunk Box (5:52)
5. My Name Is Jesus Smith (4:06)
6. Parchment and Candles (1:52)
7. Brother Arnold's Red and White Striped Tent (5:06)

CONDITION: The LAMINATED gatefold unipack cover is thin and fragile like of the British styles of the early 70's ...this one has held up pretty well, VG++ with only very little wear but nothing that really sticks out, so, should be a solid keeper piece....

The vinyl is all glossy "EX" (excellent) no scratches, expect to play quite enjoyable

A cool addition to anyone's music library!
