Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   CANADA ~ 1 LP 8.50; 2 discs $10.00; 3 discs $11.50; over 4 please contact us for shipping costs.   AUSTRALIA, THAILAND, JAPAN ~ 1 LP $18.00; 2 discs $23.00; 3 discs $27.00; 4 discs $32.00. Rare 1969 advance release WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL

RARE sought after ORIGINAL 1969 second (and last) album by these CHURLS cats

BOTH albums by THE CHURLS sure do a good job mixing the hard garagepunk and straight poprock nuggets, the former to get the teenage boys all hot and bothered and the latter to swoon the girls into an ecstatic frenzy. Plus these Churls sure do a good job with the harmonies and arrangements (thanks to organist Newton Garwood who seems to be the genius behind the band) and heck, one can pick out at least five sure-fire hits on FM radio here ( the tension-inducing "See My Way" surely would have been wowed which clocks in at an amazing 5:16). Yes, you too will be surprised when you hear "She Needs a Man" and think that the Churls surely swiped some moves from the NAZZ Rundgren version of "Hello It's Me", then realize that that one didn't come out until a good two years later! Perhaps the Churls should get some sorta garage band award for being able to play it teenage wholesome one minute and late-sixties GARAGE punk next, sounding the way you kinda wish that band down the street did when you were fifteen years old and even you knew what cool rock was at that early age!

Don't let the Churls medieval costumes fool you, this is a must-get that ranks up there with a lot of heavy in demand garage/psych Lp's including all the flashes that many of you would have not known about if it weren't for the writings of the ebay mod quad and the like....

As for the CHURLS, word up says they honed their skills by practicing 24/7 creating definite British converted American blues sounds which unfortunately due to a lousy agreement with A & M Records label, were not able to be recorded. A&M Records owner Herbie Alpert wanted a sort of rocky yet not too harsh sound -- and on the other hand the CHURLS rocked every house they played dealing a gritty heated sound with the edge of the Stones, Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, Howlin Wolf, Bo Diddley and every other blues artist from Chicago and the Delta who ever influenced a British band to record their music a different way -- which in turn was interpreted by The Churls even rockier and harder. Unfortunately both albums contain some forced melodics by way of a very strong minded A&M records owner named Herb Alpert. However, they were able to slip in quite a bit of meat to the matters at hand...
