We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Sought after...rare...ORIGINAL 1971 pressing this is NOT the multi fold gimmix silver foil cover and hexagon vinyl set, but rather a lesser seen standard 12inch vinyl issue that was pressed in the same year ...a sci-fi space thriller from the early 70's ...

Like Forbidden Planet, The Andromeda Strain is one of the few Hollywood productions to feature an electronic music score. The soundtrack was composed by composer-musician Gil Mellé, who is probably best known for his theme music for the 1970s Rod Serling TV series Night Gallery. It is a unique blend of electronically generated sound, manipulated taped sounds (musique concrete) and some traditional instrumentation (keys, double bass, percussion), punctuated by bursts of electronic white noise and pink noise. The Percussotron III, which the composer designed especially for Andromeda, is heard throughout the various tracks. Musique concrete also plays an important role here. Many field trips were made by the artist in order to record natural sounds of 20th century life (Jet Propulsion Labs in Southern California, buzz saws, wind, bowling alleys and railways). Traditional instruments were used after being electronically altered (like ten times) electronically processed with keys & sound effects. On the general level with some of the avant-garde pioneering (OHR label, etc) German Krautrock "space" bands...

CONDITION: The cover rated:  VG++ the silver foil custom designed hexagon cover has a few light scuffs and abrasions, but only LIGHT, nowhere near the heavy wear you might find IF found at all, rare in ANY condition.  There is a very small 10/1/71 (date of record release at top right corner, not in ink, so not very noticeable. Looks very collectible condition...with no split seams, no tears, no writing ... a "wall display" item....

The vinyl is very clean, rated M- and plays as a TOP COPY ... both labels are clean
