THEIR VERY FIRST ALBUM !
Playing a melodious synthesis of symphonic heavy-rock dominated by gushing organ and expressive guitar lines that has occasionally been compared to Pink Floyd, Hanover Germany 'Kraut-rockers' Jane can be traced to the late sixties psychedelia scene ...

Jane's 1972 FIRST album is easily one of the most striking from their long career.
From the first organ swells to the majestic guitar histrionics , this album is a classic.
Although Jane was not really progressive per se especially in their early days, they presented a really excellent hard rock format captivated by long adventurous interplay due to very able musicians!
Much like their counterparts, Birth Control, started out as noticeable hard prog-psych band whom eventually morphed into a Pink Floyd styled symphonic sound of also untold greatness.
JANE were one of the bands that flew under the radar of one to many. In other words, the band would have not released 15 acclaimed albums during they career had they not had a special something going for them...
ATTENTION :::
This is the only album where JANE employed a main vocalist (and he is good) delivering unforgettable dominating vocal mannerisms. Not that the future vocalist was inferior, far from that idea (actually their future vocalists would always sound a bit like Berndt Pulst.) Later JANE vocalists would also handle another instrument.
The opening track , the potentially impressive Daytime is one of those tracks that you could have heard on UNDERGROUND radio back in the day (necessitated by a turned on D.J.) but of course you probably would never know it was JANE!
The band largely achieved an International scene and feature captivating tracks filled with expressive GUSHING organ and lysergic guitar theatrics, both in a manor that hit the 'right' sound....
