SUPER RARE!

Never see ....1973 PRIVATE PRESS first pressing on the obscure "KOT'AI" label which was picked up and released on 20thCentury Records...

...the very first and arguably best album by the sonic guitar bombs of Canada's MAHOGANY RUSH, the album dedicated to Jimi Hendrix who had died a couple years before ... the guitar trio burst on the scene with the same styled 'magic fingers' showcase in a hard n' heavy trio format...lots of wah-wah guitar, controled feedback howling and echoplex slippery volumous fretboard work in cool original tunes...Recorded when guitarist Frank Marino was only 16. Following the voodoo magic of Jimi Hendrix, Marino relied on wah-wah effects, psychedelic blues and six string tricks that separated James Marshall Hendrix from the pretenders. Marino will never down-play the inspiration laid down by the late Jimi Hendrix.

Mahogany Rush debuted in the hot rockin' year of '73 with the release of the Maxoom album. The LP showcases Marino in full-tilt Jimi Hendrix overdrive, which established the vibe for Frank's entire recording career as both a member of Mahogany Rush, as well as a solo artist. Opening with the title track, Maxoom adds the seven-minute "Blues", which is all about "Red House", plus the mind-blowin' "Funky Woman", and the brewing "Madness". That's just the start....wild!
