ITEM:      Very rare LP, seldom seen on Ebay.  " Caribbean Nights ( Les Nuits Caraibes ) ",  by Diane Adrian. Released in 1955 in New Orthophonic High Fidelity on the RCA Deep Groove Label, catalog number LPM-1083.  First Pressing, Matrix Stamper Numbers are 1/S, and 1/S.        

COMMENTS/CONDITION:    This LP came from a private collection.  I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR LP's FROM THE SAME COLLECTION THAT I AM LISTING AS TIME PERMITS.  Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. Record was visually inspected, and was test played. If you are not familiar with Goldmine's system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

This is a unique and enjoyable album, containing traditional Haitian and Afro-Cuban songs as interpreted by Diane Adrian, with the backing of orchestra and chorus directed by Alan Greene. The music takes on a completely different sound when the drum rhythms are blended with the full, lush sound of the orchestra. The dynamic and soaring vocal talents of Diane Adrian backed by the chorus, result in an exciting interpretation and "Americanizing" of the traditional Caribbean selections performed here.
