We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Overall, one could easily make the case for designating the Masters Apprentices as the best Australian rock band of the '60s. Featuring singer Jim Keays and songwriter/rhythm guitarist Mick Bower, the band's earliest recordings combined the gritty R&B/rock of Brits like the Pretty Things with the minor-key melodies of the Yardbirds. The compelling "Wars or Hands of Time" and the dreamy psychedelia of "Living in a Child's Dream" were undiscovered classics, although the latter was a Top Ten hit in Australia.
So here is a TOP M- COPY - the genuine STAND-OUT album, recorded in 1967 by "top of the heap" group from 'Down Under', the Masters Apprentices , who managed a lengthy career that took them as mid 60's beat-rock era specialists on through to late 60's psychedelic rock giants and then maturing into a finesse early '70s hard-rock/progressive band - all genres they entered were centered on their incredibly strong and crafted compositions.
One should be hard pressed to find many in-the-know collectors who would praise anything but the highest compliments to the rewarding tunes throughout both sides of this album. With striking appeal, each spin of this phenomenal record only gets better, with final results, the listener truly convinced.
Originally recorded in June 1967, the Master's Apprentices self titled first album needs to be in any serious collectors music library, being not just one of the great Australian albums of the 60s, but one of the great garage/rock/psych albums all-time from anywhere. Led by singer Jim Keays and guitarist / songwriter Mick Bower, the Keays/Bower combo of Masters Apprentices would all too soon suffer a serious blow when, much like Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett, Mick Bower would leave the group due to "mental" issues. Although Masters Apprentices would re-group and have an outstanding career in the psychedelic hard-rock direction, they never achieved the outstanding formula presented on their '67 first album.
The Australian band were capable of churning out high-energy freak-beat originals like “But One Day”, the absolutely menacing “Undecided” and their most well-known track “War Or Hands Of Time”; all of which were comparable to what The Yardbirds or Them were doing around the same time.
With all the forward thinking going on in music in 1967 (Sgt. Peppers, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Velvet Underground and Nico…etc) it’s rather alarming this album isn't mentioned on the level of the greats mentioned above. That's probably due to the fact the Masters Apprentices album was not distributed or released in any country but their native Australia.

Truly a M- top copy, there is no heavy wear found on most surviving copies...no bends, split seams or other significant issues. A real prize...
