This auction is for a UK first pressing of Black Sabbath's debut, self-titled album from 1970. I am also including as 'freebies' their second and third albums, 'Paranoid' and 'Master of Reality'. All records are on the UK Vertigo swirl label and are from 1970 and 1971.

Below I give an honest description. All gradings are based on the UK Record Collector Grading System.

Black Sabbath (self-titled)

It has clean labels with no damage. Side one of the record has light marks, scuffs and 'hairlines' and sounds great. I would grade the sound on side one between very good plus and excellent. Side two has some obvious marks and scratches which cause clicks during Sleeping Village and Warning, but it plays through with NO JUMPS OR SKIPS. I would grade the sound on side two as Very Good.

The cover has some sellotape on the bottom rear seam (where the seam came unglued, but the seam is NOT split) and a repair near the logo on the front cover. I have included close-up pictures of these issues. Apart from these things the cover is fine.

The two 'freebies' are included as follows:-

Paranoid

Cover has no major issues. Labels are fine except for some slight damage on side two label. Record has some crackles and clicks but plays fine until the very end when it gets stuck near the end of Fairies Wear Boots.

Master of Reality

Embossed box cover is squashed and has creases and some sellotape residue (which will probably clean off). Some of the edges and corners have been blacked in with ink. The record plays really well with just a little bit of crackle and a few small clicks, but nothing major anywhere. It is a very acceptable copy to listen to. I would grade the sound between very good plus and excellent. Unfortunately the labels have been coloured in, so this is not for a 'collector', just a decent copy to listen to.
